So true, but a regular firing takes 12 hours and waiting until the next morning to open the kiln up ... raku takes 3 hours from start to finish, including getting to examine the finished product. It's positively addicting! :)

Happy:
Stainless steel is never as good as Nichrome!
It's initially cheaper, but not cheaper in the long run. :)

The container idea has been good, the box shape seems to be more brittle than in the circular form. The circular shape seems to make the container easier to grab out of the kiln, possibly because it is shaped more like a pot.(?)Natalie -- NKP Designshttps://www.blogger.com/profile/09846679058751653271noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-15924149.post-66040765323012884282011-03-23T04:03:57.919-05:002011-03-23T04:03:57.919-05:00Wonderful beads, so natural! It sounds like really hard work. But the results are stunning. And I like how you consider what sounds like an all-day project to be 'immedialte!' lol.fanciful deviceshttps://www.blogger.com/profile/15032434965998552318noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-15924149.post-37041232935662542262010-05-24T12:18:59.659-05:002010-05-24T12:18:59.659-05:00Thanks Cindi and Mary! :)Thanks Cindi and Mary! :)Natalie -- NKP Designshttps://www.blogger.com/profile/09846679058751653271noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-15924149.post-61880748933045671302010-05-24T09:49:35.984-05:002010-05-24T09:49:35.984-05:00I loved your post.
